40 - The meetup begins, and the baby fusses. Stick with it, the audio quality gets better.
38 - A question was edited out during rustling, "How do you get your podcast known?"

09 - Answering the promotion question. Register your show on podcast directories such as: PodcastPickle.com, Podcast411.com, and PodcastAlley.com, iTunes, Odeo, Yahoo, etc.
28 - More to do with marketing than where you're listed. Differentiate from the millions of others.
48 - Gaming Digg.com
30 - Thorough show notes are what web crawlers and DIGGers will find.
03 - Link/Promo exchanges and keywords matter.
43 - Start your show first, worry about marketing later.
48 - Choose/know your market.
16 - Open feedback channels for your listeners. Free voicemail from K7.net, MyChingo, audio attachments, e-mail, message boards, irc channels, etc. Build a community.
09 - No magic bullets to 50,000 listeners. "Just put out a good show." Differentiate.
00 - Sy talks about building a community versus going after mass appeal. Asks about Christmas Promotion possibilities. How can Chicago podcasters/bloggers support one another?
26 - How Seattle supports eachother. Promo exchanges, cross-promotion, etc.
30 - A Podcast Christmas Carol was a major Christmas collaboration. Keep an eye on the PodcastPickle.com forums for similar group projects and community building.
42 - What's your motivation? If it's money, rethink your plan ;) Average podcast audience is around 120 listeners (no cite available).
04 - Another Christmas show idea: The Big Show shared listeners' favorite holiday memories.
59 - Keep shows 'short.' The average commute is 26 minutes so maybe 30 mintues is a good show lengths.
30 - The equipment holy wars begin ;) It doesn't have to be expensive to be good. (We'll hit more on this at later meetups.) In the end, it all gets compressed anyway.
26 - Audacity free recording software - it's good, but save early and often.
44 - A decent vocal mic is the easiest way to improve your podcast.
05 - A queston before the break: what are the podcasters' day jobs? IT folk, Tribune Media Services, Consultants, A/V freelance, voiceover, marketing, etc.
11 - Wrap-up, special thanks to My Darling Rose, and outro.
