Micah's Minute - Off the Air
I hadn't even gotten around to writing about it yet, and The Micah's Minute Podcast is going off the air. The show was often, but not always, about the controller's side of Air Traffic Control. As a pilot, I loved being able to hear the other side of the microphone. I haven't had a lot of dealings with ATC yet, and none of them have been bad, but talking to them can be intimidating. Listening to Micah rap casually while also safely handling air traffic was a great way to remind myself that controllers are people too - not big scary monsters behind the microphone. Granted, there is a big scary monster standing behind them - the FAA - but the controllers are just people whose job is to help you out and keep everyone safe. And for that, I thank Micah and all of his collegues.
Details about his decision to stop the show are in his June 10th show. I guess he didn't want to be like Nate of The Nate and Di Show, and lose his job due to his podcast. Makes sense. It's really too bad that one has to fear for his job like that, though. It's a free country, indeed.
Anyway, Micah, thanks for the shows you did do. I hope you can reincarnate the show in some form in the future. If not or until then, keep on keepin' on.
