Pure Babble

Wow, two posts within an hour of each other. Strange.

One thought I just had looking over my last post and adding a comment to the one before that: given the flying and the motorcycling, I wonder if it's possible I'm having a midlife crisis at age 29.5. That would fit right in with what someone asked me on my 20th birthday "Wow, how does it feel to know your life is, like, one third over?" Maybe I'm only supposed to hit 60. Scary.

But I'm not feeling crisical. And it's not like motorcycling's a new thing for me. If it were up to me, I'd have picked up my bike the weekend we moved and got a garage of our own, but it just didn't work out that way. And the flying thing, again, if it were up to me, that would have stared YEARS ago. So no, I don't think I'm mid-lifing just yet. If anything, I'm just getting back to how I used to be: Try anything once. Keep trying the things I like.

Speaking of trying new things, we happened to catch the last half of Boy Meets Boy today (the last one, it seems, so no suspense for us), as well as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Thanks, SNFG, for the reminder. Anyway, BMB was just too much like all the other 'Reality' shows to register at all for me. QEftSG was fun stuff, though. The straight guy was a super-clod, and his girfriend was even bigger and cloddier than him, but he seemed to really have fun, and just might have learned something. Anyway, now I know what all they hype is about.

Oh, and I know I've never finished the Pets Post I promised long ago, so I don't have a link for the following tid-bit. Deal. Anyway, bunny Harrison had sinusitis a few weeks ago. He was on antibiotics and probiotics (which bunnies need for a healthy digestive system). He was rechecked today, and Maggie (other bunny) also got an annual exam and both came up healthy. Yay. So that's good news.

Ok, time for bed. Love you long time.

Don't forget, you were talking Burning Man the other day. If that's not mid-lifing, then I don't know what is.

Re: Boy Meets Boy - As I avoid most reality shows like the plague (didn't even see most of the Jim Rose or Cirque du Soleil ones), I can't say how it compares, but I was absolutely hooked on this one. Caught every episode. Wasn't sure what I was gonna do if I had to work overtime tonight. Really kinda ticked, though, cuz I thought the weasel was gonna be Brian. Both Franklin and Wes seemed like they'd be good for James.

Re: Queer Eye - My cable decided to go on the blink right about that time, so I didn't catch tonight's. 's okay, it'll be on again Thursday. I've caught most of those, and while I think they're fun (except for that bitchy Carson, but even he's getting better), the show's certainly not worth all the critical analyses that've been floating around. It's not changing the world, just some guy's wardrobe and decor. Crikey.

While I disagree that Burning Man is a strictly midlify thing, you may have more of a point than I'd want to admit. But the BM thing is here and gone - I didn't even write the 'Yearn to Burn' entry for Eblo I was going to write. Until next year. . . .

That's what I get for leaving off the tags on my comments... *sigh* And here I was, all ready to be, like, creative and shit.
