F**k you Gillette.
This post serves two purposes:
- To point out that This guy is friggin' loony. In the good way.
- To test the notification list, which I suspect isn't working.
- A survey (with only one question)!!!!
For a shiny gold star (still have to figure those out), who, besides my wife, knows the significance of the favicon I've chosen for this site?
It's really a trick question since DNS things aren't worked out the way they should be, so I'll give you this hint: it's more related to my email address than this site's URL.
And no, I don't really expect anyone to get this.
Again, this is mostly just a test.
[Edited to update URL 1/24/2006]

Also, I forgot to give a shout-out to snfg for the URL in the post. So, "Boo-yah!"
Posted by: Oblivion at July 24, 2003 09:04 AMIs it your much-missed Fly-dog? I don't know. It's awfully small, and it's not, for some reason, displaying where it should be displaying when viewed with galeon.
Posted by: snfg at July 24, 2003 12:54 PMNo, Fly was black. I wonder what's making Galeon unhappy.
In other "I'm a freakin' idiot" news, I finally got around to RE-RTFM'ing. Once I read this "Ah-ha!" bit, it sounded really familiar:
"Notifications are never sent automatically when you post a new entry. To send a notification to your readers on a particular entry, select that entry for editing . . .."
Maybe I'll hack that if I get bored.
Posted by: Oblivion at July 24, 2003 03:40 PMWell, I give up on figuring out what the favicon is, but I got it to display, finally. The favicon is significantly newer than the rest of your site, yes? Apparently, Galeon doesn't refresh the icon when it refreshes the page, and you have to explicitly reload the icon, which I've now done.
Posted by: snfg at July 24, 2003 06:40 PMSince I don't really expect any more contestants, I'll spill shortly in the form of a post - links and all. For now, a fill-size version of the image is viewable here: http://tantalus.dnsalias.net/images/great-dane.jpg
Duh. I said the post had two purposes, then I listed three. Think 1984. But different. One plus one plus one equals two.
Duh.
