Things and Stuff, a Weekend Summary
So, on the way home from work Friday, I took this photo with a crappy digital camera (Largan Chameleon Mega, free with my Dell laptop):

(Click on it to see a higher res rendition).
I took a couple other pics, too.
Yesterday, we saw T3. The recurring thought I had: "This is silly." I think it's got MST3K writen all over it. At least you knew at some points it was TRYING to be funny, so it had that going for it. The editing/pacing sucked. And it needed more TX boobs. Today over lunch I mentioned that the trailer was 'almost better than the movie.' I was corrected and told that it was better than the movie. True. They may have actually spent more production time/effort on the trailer than on the film itself. Seriously, if I hadn't already seen it, I'd wait for video. We should have seen the new Charlie's Angels or Whale Rider or something.
Today was a plesant Sunday spent with the bestest wife in the world. Yum, roasted marshmallows.
On the technical side of things, apparently the comment feature wasn't working properly (as pointed out by my one reader). Thanks, snfg, for the error report and the follow-up testing.
Not a full update, but that's all you get for now.

My point is that I meant to say more about that picture. It was taken while traveling about 50 M.P.H. on Hunt Club Road. The barn is part of Tempel Farms (if you're really curious, I'd say I was right around N 42.434554 W 87.972376).
We've been getting a lot of rain and this was right after a very scattered shower (you could see where it was raining and where it wasn't). It is one of the most vivid rainbows I've ever seen. I had the camera handy from trying to shoot something else cool which I drive by every day (but it didn't come out). So the rain stopped, the sun came out, and there she was. So I reached my arm as close to the passenger window as I could, and shot. Getting the barn 98% centered was 99.9% luck.
That's all. I just wanted to share.
Posted by: oblivion at July 14, 2003 11:41 AMIt's probably extremely bad form for the spouse of the blogger to comment, but I'm not much for manners. Re: T3 - the editing of the trailer was MUCH better than the film. No doubt about it. The STORY in the trailer was also superior to the movie. The trailer actually made me think "I want to see this film." The trailer was cool. The trailer was suspenseful. The action and the Tx were hot. I recommend watching the trailer, then the last 5 minutes of the movie. That's all you need - you'll enjoy that expereince more than watching the entire movie.
But hey - I wanted to see it. Oh vell.

Re: the commenting by spouses, I believe proper form involves starting your own blog, and then using trackbacks. Plus, you could work that new Palm into the game, somewhere.
